Town Hall Hotel has long been a popular fixture on East London’s foodie scene and for a good reason. Located on the first floor of the Town Hall Hotel, the 30-cover Corner Room with Assembly Room is an informal haunt by day and intimate lounge room by night, the restaurant is a popular venue on the evolving culinary landscape in this corner of the capital. We are also re-launching our hotel bar, offering a friendly bar experience for restaurant and hotel guests, and our neighbours.

KITCHEN PORTER

We are looking for a team player with passion for the food industry and great work ethics.
The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills; dedicated behaviour and commitment to the role. Experience in similar role is desirable and the right attitude is a must!

Key responsibilities for the role include:
  • washing up pots, pans, plates and cutlery
  • cleaning food preparation areas and equipment
  • organising the storerooms
  • keeping work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised
  • removing and recycling waste from the kitchen

HEAD BARTENDER

The ideal candidate will be service orientated, attentive, and professional with an entrepreneurial approach, creative ideas are always welcome! The candidate will be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge and passion for cocktails, wine, & spirits, and a have a desire to learn more. We’re looking for someone with ability to: drive service and sales and deliver unique guest experience with enthusiasm, flair and a sense of fun.

The main responsibilities for the Head Bartender will be:
  • Responsible for the effective running of the Bar
  • Optimise guest satisfaction and exceed guests’ expectations through delivery of consistent high standards and being responsive to guest requests
  • Creating and constantly developing the cocktail menu at the Bar to unlock the potential of the business and create a destination in the local area.
  • Passionate about what you do and train the team on drinks knowledge
  • Take responsibility for stock control, including ordering, maintaining of par stock levels, stock rotation, and monthly stock counts

F&B SUPERVISOR

This role would be across our Food & Beverage department so every shift could be different: from looking after a film crew in our Council Chamber to running a wedding reception in our De Montfort Suite to running a shift in our Corner Room Restaurant or Bar. We need someone with strong events or catering experience and able to lead a large team in a busy environment.

We employ people for their passion, creativity and personality as well as their ability and attitude. Above all we want people who are passionate about food, drink and hospitality.

The ideal candidate will be service orientated, attentive, and professional with an entrepreneurial approach and flexible attitude. We are looking for someone with ability to: motive team, drive sales and deliver unique guest experience with enthusiasm and flair.

The main responsibilities for the F&B Supervisor will be:
  • All operational aspects of the daily F&B service within the Corner Room Restaurant and Events
  • Guiding and leading the F&B team during service
  • Delivering on the job training to develop new and existing team members
  • Service delivery planning and ensuring that the team is prepared at the start of each service/event
  • Working closely with senior leadership team on an ongoing improvement of the service and offering

F&B ATTENDANT

The successful Waiter/Waitress/Barista candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Great organisation and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to details
  • Previous experience in a similar role is necessary and experience working in boutique hotels would be advantageous

HOUSEKEEPING ATTENDANT

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for cleaning and checking their guest rooms and maintaining the respective corridors.

Some of the key processes include but are not limited to:
  • Regular cleaning
  • Keeping all staff and communal areas clean and maintain the highest health & safety standards.
  • Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to their requests in a timely manner
  • Comply with hotel lost property policies

SALES MANAGER

The main responsibilities for this position are, but not limited to:
  • Proactively contacting corporate, leisure, MICE, entertainment and filming clients
  • Promoting both properties via attendance at key industry networking events, exhibitions, conference & trade shows
  • Cold calling, face to face meetings, office presentations & general client viewings
  • There will also be cross over to C&B within the role
  • The successful candidate should be organised and focused with an outgoing personality.

Front Office Supervisor

Main responsibilities for this role would include:
  • Supervising the reception team in order to ensure prompt and courteous check-in and check-out procedures
  • Maintaining awareness of VIP arrivals and departures and ensures necessary special arrangements are met
  • Preparing arrivals for the following day taking care of room allocation and guest requests
  • Observing team performance and time attendance
  • Elaborating, reviewing and updating SOPs in order to support reception supervisors training
  • VIP guest room allocation
  • Up-selling wherever possible
  • Liaising with other key departments to ensure the daily smooth running of the operation
  • Attention to detail and commitment to your responsibilities.

Day/Night Receptionist

The successful candidate will be highly professional, have excellent communication skills, be well presented and understand the importance of exceptional customer service.

Reporting to the Day or Night Reception Manager, key responsibilities for the role include:
  • Checking guests in and out

  • Taking payments

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the reception during the night shift

  • Assisting with running the night audit for the hotel, bar and restaurants

  • Assisting with out-of-hours reservations enquiries when applicable

  • Answering guest queries and offering help wherever needed

  • Up-selling wherever possible

  • Liaising with other key departments to ensure the daily smooth running of the operation

Linen Porter

Your main responsibilities as Linen porter will be:
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day handling of all soiled and clean linen and keeping receipt of housekeeping deliveries
  • Collecting soiled linen from the floors where applicable
  • Checking all laundry in and out, ensuring all documentation is checked and completed as necessary
  • Reporting all linen discrepancies to the Executive Housekeeper/ Deputy Housekeeper
  • Carrying out carpet and upholstery cleaning, as and when required
  • Assisting with light maintenance issues when required

Events Operations Assistant

The main responsibilities for the Events Operations Assistant will be:
  • All operational aspects of the daily Events
  • Guiding and leading the team during Events
  • Delivering on the job training to develop new and existing team members

  • Working closely with the Events operations manager on an ongoing improvement of the service
